ROSE WATER AND ITS BENEFITS
ROSE WATER HOW TO OBTAIN?
It is known that people discovered rose water by boiling rose petals in water in order to use the beautiful scents of roses that bloom in May-June every year throughout the year. In time, with the invention of the distillation method, rose water began to be obtained in the most accurate way. Distillation can be defined as the distillation method with water vapor. Freshly collected rose flowers are placed in distillation tanks with some water and boiled. The evaporated flower essences are distilled with a special cooling process and both rose water and rose oil are obtained.
There are approximately 13,500 varieties of roses in the world, including hybrids. But the most special variety is the Rosa Damascena variety, known as the Isparta rose in our country. Rosa Damascena rose is especially preferred due to its intense scent and high oil yield. This very delicate flower blooms only once a year and in the spring months with the warming of the weather. The flower, which remains on the branch for a few days without being picked, immediately falls off under the effect of the heat. For this reason, it should be picked early in the morning and urgently.
Approximately 2,000,000 Rosa Damascena flowers yield 1 kg of rose oil. During this process, approximately 2,000-2,500 kg of rose water is obtained. Rosa Damascena flowers, which are very laborious to process, are a calming and balancing natural tonic suitable for all skin types.
